Solitude and Soreness

It's camp week here and for a few blissful hours each day, the camp schedules of my children overlap, leaving me with time to not only work quietly, but to think, too! Yesterday, I got caught up on some straggling projects, but this afternoon -- after I finish working for the day -- I'm looking forward to a nice walk with some of those high-intensity running intervals I talked about yesterday.

Today, I'm definitely feeling the effects of my workout boost. My strength-training yesterday included adding three to five pounds to each of the exercises I've been doing, including bicep curls, triceps kickbacks, triceps press, shoulder press, chest flies, chest presses, lunges and squats. In a word, ouch! I'd forgotten what a difference a few pounds can make.

I also boosted cardio yesterday by adding a half-hour brisk walk with my husband -- who's still walking daily, by the way! -- before heading out to my dance class. All in all, a very good start to my August campaign to kick things up a notch.

So...how did you do?
