Gym? What Gym?
Do you ever just not feel like working out? I know it's essential for my body and my mood, but honestly, when it's hot and humid and the sun is shining, I'd rather be here. This is where the kids and I spend our afternoons all summer long.
Typically, I try to get my workouts in during the early morning hours, when it's still cool and I haven't yet succumbed to the heat of the day. But after watching MizFit's delightful video on playground workouts, I'm hoping she'll stop by and offer up some exercises I can do at the beach (without looking crazy and embarrassing my children, of course). I'm thinking push-ups on unstable beach sand? Sort of like nature's BOSU. Running and doing leg lifts in the water might also be good resistance training.
All I know is this: It's really hard to work out inside when this is calling you outside. What do you do to shake off the lazy, summer "don't want to work out" blues?

ooooh.
when ya leaving?
I got me some good ideas :)
off to play babymama.

I left my gym as soon as the weather started getting warmer. Any amount of time I can spend outdoors I'm there! I just walk lots. Excessively. It makes me happy:)

If I simply cannot make myself workout, I just try to eat a less that day ... does that count? If it's that hot, then I often don't feel like eating anyway.

MizFit, don't worry -- I'm there every day!
Sagan, I'm with you. I love being outside and working out inside on beautiful summer days just feels wrong...unless it's blazing hot, of course. Then I long for air-conditioning.
That's a good strategy for those days when you just can't bring yourself to work out, Roxanne. I've had a few of those ;-)
